Since coming to the RNCM, she has performed in masterclasses for Timothy Ridout, Maxim Rysanov & Nobuko Imai, regularly leading orchestras & working with composers to premiere their compositions. Other recent highlights include winning the RNCM Viola Prize in her third year, performing as part of the Halle’s Steve Reich Festival & travelling to Shenzhen as part of the RNCM String Ensemble to perform in the Shenzhen Belt & Road International Music Festival.
Alongside her studies, Jeanette is the creative director & performer in Valette Ensemble, who recently performed Gabriella Smith’s Carrot Revolution at Wigmore Hall. She also freelances with the Chineke! Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra & Manchester Camerata.
Having studied jazz with Steve Berry, Jeanette is a keen improviser having played alongside Alice Zawadzki & regularly plays with guitarist Rory A. Green.
Jeanette Szeto is a violist based in London & Manchester currently in the final year of her undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music where she studies with Louise Lansdown.
